Kenny Swanson of the 129 AHC has his Reno story told in the July 6th edition of The Daily Astorian. It's his hometown newspaper in Astoria, OR. Check it out, it tells of an amazing VHCMA Reunion experience & John Brennan's book.

As an ROTC graduate from the University of Delaware I served as a pilot with the 68th AHC (Top Tiger 21) from Oct 66 through Oct 67. Returned to Ft. Wolters as an instructor pilot until Oct 68.

Took a trip last Fall (2017) back to Wolters. What a shock to see that the base had been sold and is now an Industrial Park. All the flight line area is gone (fenced off into small lots for various companies). The rusted uprights for the control tower are still visible on the hill and the TH55 and OH23 choppers are still on the posts going into the old entrance to the base. Lots of things change in 50 years, but I was still shocked.

Trying to work on my military memories, but it's a slow process.

I was the battalion commander's crew chief from about Sept. 1969 until Sept. of 1970, and flew with Col. Seliskar and Col. Top.

I have a very nice, hard bound book that was sort of a yearbook for the 145th and has in it the pictures of the troops, buildings, etc for the year 1968. Since I didn't get there until June of 1969, I am not in the photos so I don't have any interest in it.
Maybe someone who was there in 1968 would like this book.
I am not trying to sell it but will send it out for the shipping. If you would like it. let me know and we can go from there.

I was a WO/CW2 assigned to 2nd Platoon, 118th AHC. I was Thunderbird 27 Aug 67- Feb 68 then Bandit 38 until deros Jul 68. I am looking for my crew chief in slicks, he had Blue 7. His name was Hank Cerniglia, I think he was from the NE but not positive. He was a very fine crew chief and I never got to thank him for the great work he did. I left slicks rather abruptly during Tet 68, and flew both slicks and guns for a week or two. He isn't even listed on the 118th site I have no idea why? Thanks for any assistance. "TO THOSE WHO HAVE FOUGHT FOR IT, LIFE HAS A FLAVOR THAT THE PROTECTED WILL NEVER KNOW!"

I came upon this site while surfing the net and knew that the above statement would have special meaning for you. I served with 3/22nd, 25th Infantry Division out of Tay Ninh as an infantryman. Fought the NVA on the slopes of Nui Ba Den twice with numerous firefights in and around the area bordering the Cambodian border. The cover photo on my site looks out the front window of a Huey onto the Black Virgin Mountain. Serving with an aviation unit, I knew that you would recognize it. After 5 months in the field and numerous firefights, I was pulled to the 93rd Evac at Long Binh to work with soldiers suffering from combat fatigue. Over the last 10 years, I chronicled my tour of duty and the response has been overwhelming. There are presently over One Hundred 5 Star Reviews.

I proud that you made it home brother! Thank you for your service and May God Bless!
